From the $268.71 we received after bank charges and donation from Global Development Network helped us to support 50 families in Karwiru village and Kabisine in Mubuga cell, in Rwabicuma sector. Each household was given 2 chickens, 3 fruit trees, 10banana suckers, manure and a kitchen garden planted with various vegetables, all in the fight against malnutrition, poverty and to promote food security.

On 01 and 22/09/2022, a group of 8 employees of Dufatanye Organization traveled for an hour to the village of Karwiru and Kabisine, in Mubuga cell. We supported 50 families, consisting of more than 300 family members; we gave 100 chickens, 150 fruit trees, 500 banana suckers, 5 tons of manure, built 50 kitchen gardens and planted vegetables.

Before giving them this support, we gave them various trainings, including good family management, family finance management and good agriculture practices.

After receiving this support, we continue to advise, monitor to help them develop the support they received in a sustainable way.

In the testimony given by the beneficiary Fabien thanked God, the donors and Dufatanye Organization, said that: "We will not suffer any more by malnutrition.  From what you have done for us and the training you have given us, we will achieve more than this, we will get out from poverty. God bless you”

We still have 117 needy families to be supported to fight malnutrition and poverty.

Thank you for your support. Every dollar you provide makes a huge impact on saving the community from malnutrition and poverty.

A group of Dufatanye Organization staff conducted an assessment on 15/09/2022 in Villages of Hope Nyamagana, Nyabisindu and Kabisine to monitor how the beneficiaries taking care of our support including laying hens, vegetable seedlings, fruit trees and banana suckers. They found out that beneficiaries started eating eggs from the hens and harvesting the vegetables on their own. One of them called Christophe testified: "No malnutrition and malnourished related diseases? Life is good, May God bless our Dufatanye Organization and donors”.

The Dufatanye Organization staff once again sensitized beneficiaries to take good care of the support they have received and to be the first of its kind for their sustainable development.

Dear GlobalGiving partners, through you, we would like to thank Corteva Partners and all our individual donors for their huge support to fighting poverty, malnutrition, food insecurity, unemployment in Nyanza District.

From the $14,927.52 we received after bank charges, we managed to achieve the following:

-       Distribution of 1124 laying hens, 5620 banana suckers and 1124 fruits trees. These benefited 562 households with 3372 beneficiaries from three villages (Karwiru VoH: 118 households with 708 beneficiaries; Kadusenyi VoH: 194 househlods with 1164 beneficiaries and Nyamiseke VoH: 250 households with 1500 beneficiaries).

On top of these, all beneficiaries of received 3 trainings on banana farming, fruit tree farming and chicken keeping, soil management, compost making, pests and disease control, climate change and saving. They were also supported with organic manure .We believe beyond any dought that, after one and half years, there will be no people going to bed on an empty stomach in these villages. The remaining work is make kitchen gardens for all the above mentioned households with more support coming in.

One lady in Kadusenyi bowed down and thanked God for using good people to support her family. She said, “we never thought of this happening to us, we used to see your truck passing here and asked ourselves the kind of sin we made for us not to be supported. I promise, even my grand children will benefit from this uplift God has provided”

It is through this that, we greatly thank GlobalGiving for being a good channel to link our donors with our underprivileged people in the rural areas. Dufatanye alone can’t fulfill its mission without special people like you.
