Title: Beyond the Classroom: Equipping Girls With Skills
Organization: Gaba Hope for Kids

1. Executive Summary
This report presents progress on our initiative Beyond the Classroom: Equipping Girls With Skills. The project aims to empower unprivileged girls with life skills, dignity, and confidence beyond formal education. Through mentorship, hygiene education, and practical skills training, we are helping girls stay in school and build a better future.
2. Background
Many girls in our community drop out of school due to lack of sanitary pads, poverty, and lack of safe spaces to learn. Without practical skills, they are vulnerable to early marriage and long-term poverty. This project was started to provide a safe, supportive space where girls can learn, grow, and gain independence.
3. Project Objectives
- To keep girls in school through dignity kits and counseling
- To equip girls with practical life skills
- To build confidence, leadership, and self-reliance
- To create a safe space for girls to share and learn
4. Activities Conducted
- Weekly mentorship and counseling sessions for girls
- Menstrual health and hygiene education workshops
- Training in sewing and making reusable pads
- Basic craft, hairdressing, and computer literacy sessions
- Distribution of dignity kits to vulnerable girls
- Storytelling and leadership sessions
5. Impact and Achievements
- Girls supported with free literacy and skills training
- Improved school attendance for girls who received dignity kits
- Increased confidence and participation among girls
- Girls now able to make their own reusable pads
- Strong community support and growing number of girls joining
6. Challenges
- Limited training materials and sewing machines
- Small rented space that cannot accommodate all girls
- High demand for dignity kits and learning materials
- Need for more female mentors and trainers
7. Way Forward
- Establish a permanent skills center for girls
- Expand training to include more vocational skills
- Partner with more mentors and well-wishers
- Continue providing dignity kits and counseling
