Egyptian Kids on Wheels!

Dear Alhassan donors, supporters, and believers,

Thank you for donating to the Egyptian Kids on Wheels project. Your donations play a major role in changing kids’ lives. Helping kids develop a positive and healthy attitude towards their physical challenge is the first step on the road to a successful and inclusive life.

It’s school time! All kids need to get their school supplies to be ready for school. Kids with disabilities though might need special type of tools and supplies, especially wheelchair users, in order to thrive, they need to have:

1. A proper tool that enables them to move independently.
2. Supportive parents who raise their kids in a healthy environment that accepts them and teaches them to accept themselves.
3. To understand that their disability isn’t going to hold them back from achieving their goals.
4. To have accessible homes and schools.

Those four points mentioned above are essential for any kid with disability. We frequently meet kids in orientation days or measurements sessions whose parents basically have to carry them around since they don’t have a proper wheelchair that suits them or who are unaware of their potentials and so are their parents. We offer proper solutions for those needs under our Kids on Wheels project through our services:

1. A customized wheelchair that fits the injury and needs of each kid.
2. Physical and psychological rehabilitation that aims to change the mindset of kids and their parents.
3. Making schools and homes accessible for kids.
4. Recreational events and awareness campaigns throughout the year that encourages networking and exchanging experiences.
5. Sports programs in six different sports and numerous arts workshops.

These services help shape the future of our kids. We try our best to have active and independent kids whom will grow to be productive individuals in their society. Mohamed is one of our many young bright stars whom we’re always feel enthusiastic to share his progress. Mohamed joined us when he was only five years old. He got his customized wheelchair while he was still five and joined our sports team when he was six. Mohamed has won many medals and championships ever since and he’s still only eight years old!

Thank you for donating to the Egyptian Kids on Wheels project. Your donations play a major role in changing kids’ lives. Helping kids developing a positive and healthy attitude towards their physical challenge is the first step on the road of success. In this project, we offer many services:

1-     Sports programs in 6 different sports and numerous art workshops.

2-     A customized wheelchair that fits the injury and needs of each kid.

3-     Physical and psychological rehabilitation.

4-     Recreational events and awareness campaigns throughout the year.

5-     Making their schools and homes accessible.

All these services contribute in shaping healthy kids who embrace their challenge and find a way to shine and prove that they’re just as capable as their peers. They gain the confidence they need through, for example, having a hobby that they excel at or finding themselves able to move independently using a light-weight wheelchair that fits their dimensions.

Our efforts in raising social awareness over the past 7 years are projected in having more physically-challenged kids pursing their education at schools instead of involuntary homeschooling or no education at all! Our “kids on wheels” now are more confident than ever, they believe that with hard work and dedication they will achieve their dreams.

Nour is one of our future stars! She is outgoing and has a lot of energy. Due to COVID-19 breakout, she has been spending all her time at home. She spent the quarantine time learning new recipes and she has been competing against other kids in her age in cooking contests. Nour was missing going out in the fresh air though so her mom took her out and she was so excited to run on her wheelchair. Nour also applied to our sports program and she will start training as soon as health restrictions are lifted.
