Dear all Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers & supporters,

We wanted to share some special news with you this time dear donors. Why do you want to support our kids on wheels? Why each customized wheelchair cost over than $1500? Why do we specially import it from Germany and not just offer them the available wheelchairs in Egypt? All these are fair questions that might hit you before paying your donation.

Now, let us tell you more about this project in the 1st place. Customized wheelchair is therapeutic wheelchairs designed for permanent users to provide them with the maximum mobility available while the old traditional wheelchairs that are available in Egypt or so called hospital wheelchairs are supposed to be used only for temporary reasons as it causes pressure sores, malformation in bones and muscle idleness. Customized wheelchairs cost more because it’s imported from Germany, and it’s tailored made for each case based on the kid’s needs. Also, it’s made by durable materials and using cushions that decrease the possibility of pressure sores and other health issues. Not only that, but also it’s crucial for the kids’ safety & physical development as it has brakes and gears that alleviate the possibility that the person riding the wheelchair may stumble and fall, which could be very harmful in some cases. Also, it’s a light-weighted wheelchair so kids can move independently without assistance.

Special physically challenged kids need mobility solutions tailored to their particular needs. We have a long waiting list of kids hoping for their measurements to be taken to get their tailored-made customized wheelchair that suits their case to be able to be active wheelchair users and enable them to go to their schools and move independently.

Many of our kids after receiving this customized active wheelchair were able to go to school and encouraged to play sports & artistic activities. Not only that many of them became certified young athletes participating in several championships. Others played music and beatboxing and gained self-esteem & confidence to make friends in their schools and social gatherings.

Every wheelchair cost around $2000. This wheelchair save a kid’s health, self-esteem, and give him/her hope for future that they can be independent and they can face the world without assistance. They have the right to dream!

We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support. We urge you to continue supporting our cause and stay loyal donors to our cause through subscribing to a monthly recurring donation option. That will help wheelchair users in Egypt be more confident and accomplished. Please visit our Facebook page to read other success stories:
