Our kids on wheels are thriving everywhere they go!

Dear all Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers & supporters,

Let’s share with you our happy news. We are working hard with our partner Selah ElTelmeez (one of the ancient and most notable educational entities & platforms in Egypt) to turn all our schools in Egypt to be accessible (wheelchair-friendly) for our kids so they can get their right for proper education and healthy inclusive environment.

Currently, we are working on the process & procedures with the Egyptian government and other stakeholders to get their approval so we can turn this dream into reality. We studied 200 schools that are eligible to be fully accessible for our kids once we get the legalities done to be the 1^st phase of the project. Not only that, but also we have around 250 kids (wheelchair users) classified based on different metrics whether they were born like that or they became wheelchair users after an accident or illness. We also classify them based on their age & level of education so we can offer the best service for them. These kids are successful in their education as well as extracurricular activities. Many of them won medals in several sports. Our plans for the next period is that:

Target: Working on accessibility options for public schools (study – budget – plan).
Action: Conducting an agreement with Constructing and Development Company as part of their CSR role to turn all inaccessible schools to be wheelchair friendly spaces.
Time frame: 1 year

A kid's smile worth a million dollar

Dear all Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers & supporters,

It’s our pleasure to share with you some exciting news for this blessed project! We were able to draw a smile on few kids’ faces this month after providing them with their new adjustable customized wheelchairs!

Nobody wants to see his/her kids suffering or feeling inferior due to a physical challenge that they were born with or suffered from after they born due to an illness or even an accident. That’s exactly why we put our kids’ needs as a priority because we want them to grow up healthy mentally and physically as well as emotionally.

We proudly announce that we imported high quality customized wheelchairs for kids and delivered the 1^st batch to our little champions last week, and expecting second batch soon. So they are now able to face the world with their new wheelchairs, which won’t just facilitate their mobility and encourage them to go out and explore the world, but also it will protect them from major health issues that they could have suffered from due to using the old traditional oversized wheelchairs.

These old traditional wheelchairs that they used to ride clinically proven that they cause horrible sores, and negatively affect kids’ internal organs and cause spinal cord deformation. Surely we don’t want that to happen to any of our kids.

As a foundation we are not only focusing on their physical health, but also we give time & effort for keeping their emotional and mental health in a good shape through organizing social gatherings for them and their families. Also, we encourage them to participate in sports & arts activities. Many of our kids achieved great victories in sports compared to their abled peers in schools.

Help Kids on Wheels be tomorrow's heroes!

Dear all Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers & supporters,

We are proud to announce that Kids on wheels was a lucky project since launched few months ago. You our precious donors supported it since the 1^st day it was posted and we regularly get donations due to you believing in young kids on wheels. We want to share with you some of this amazing project’s accomplishments!

During the past few years we were trying as much as we can to provide best options for our kids on wheels. We always encourage and support these gifted kids to be strong, persistent, and confident. One of our kids on wheels is practicing professionally now beatboxing and playing on flutes. This kid used to be neglected at school due to staying in class all the time as his school wasn’t accessible so he couldn’t go out and socialize with the other kids. Alhassan foundation give him an opportunity to be hosted at one of the famous TV shows in Egypt and he were able to convey his voice to the government, which made his school principal submit to his needs and accommodate him in a ground floor class so he is now able to socialize with other kids and participate actively in activities. He is benefitting from other FDN projects as well through participating in sports and arts activities.

As a foundation we host quarterly social gatherings for our new members and we emphasize on hosting our kids on wheels with their parents so they can exchange knowledge with other parents and their kids can see other kids from our members and how they are sociable, confident, and living their life normally.

Not only that, we also provide efficient light-weighted wheelchairs tailored especially for kids. We enhanced the process of supporting these kids with these active wheelchairs and made it more sustainable and efficient through taking old wheelchairs from kids after they grow up, replace it with bigger ones, and give the smaller ones to younger kids as a “pay forward initiative”. We hope that you continue your support for our kids so we can keep up with developing our good cause.
