Dear donor,
I hope you are doing well.
Thanks to your support we bring great news for this last report!
The second class started in April and 10 nano entrepreneurs have been supported by ManaMano. They are all women from poor communities, the most affected areas by the economic impact of covid-19.
All of them have been trained in business plan, digital marketing, and brand strengthening. Besides that, all of them receive individual mentorship and support, in order to help each entrepreneur to overcome their own personal and professional challenges.
You can know better about each woman visiting the project Youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC2UR6Akjk8AOodf25htUVHA
We also want to explain why this is the last report here in GlobalGiving.
ManaMano is a project in partnership with the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and several fellows from the global network of social entrepreneur Ashoka. Due to this, we have a rotating management of the project. After this first year, the next organization responsible for the management is going to be another partner member of ManaMano.
To follow the news about ManaMano we invite you to follow the project on social media and to visit our website.
Please, if you have any doubt or want to know more about the project feel free to write to manamano@manamano.org.
Kind regards,

Dear donor,
I hope you are doing well.
This year started with great news!
The first class of ManaMano was completed with great success!
In total, 6 nano entrepreneurs from Rio de Janeiro benefited. And one of them was Tania.
Tania is a seamstress and lives in Rio de Janeiro. Until March 2020, she lived off the sale of handmade creative sewing products, baby clothes, patchwork and patch aplique at weekly fairs that took place in several cities in the state. However, the new coronavirus pandemic changed everything.
The fairs were immediately suspended and Tania's entire source of income was exhausted out of the blue. Without any income, without being able to work and living alone, Tania felt fear, loneliness and anguish.
However, the ManaMano Fund made it possible to change that history! With the support of people like you, we were able to help Tania recover her business.
With classes and mentoring, Tania started to be in contact with other people - even if in a virtual way - which was fundamental to break with social isolation and reduce the feeling of loneliness that this difficult moment brought.
In addition, Tania also learned new techniques such as the acquisition of new customers, brand strengthening, new project development, digital marketing, business management, among other new ones.
And to top it off, Tania received seed capital of 2,500.00 reais (almost 500 dollars) to recover her business. So she was able to buy a new embroidery machine, since the old one was broken.
Thus, 1 year after the arrival of COVID-19 in Brazil, even with the necessary social isolation, Tania is no longer alone and is managing to recover her enterprise.
Thank you so much for helping us to change Tania's life!

Dear donor,
I hope you are doing well.
Today I’m writing to you to share some great news about ManaMano!
In September I wrote to invite you to our live Geração de renda: uma pauta que une universidade e empreendedorismo social, when we launched the project you turned possible with your donation.
Since then, ManaMano started a mentorship program with 6 nano entrepreneurs. You can know more about each one of them visiting our youtube channel.
The 6 nano entrepreneurs are from poor regions of Rio de Janeiro state and face every single day the social and economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. All of them, thanks to people like you, are receiving online management business mentorship with university professors from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ) one of the best universities of Brazil.
At the end of the mentorship program, each nano entrepreneur is going to receive 2,500.00 reais (less than 500 dollars) to re-start their businesses in a sustainable way. This means that you and the other donors allowed us to create an alternative to the economic crises that in less than 6 months broke down 36% of the business managed by black women.
Thanks so much for your support.
Please, if you have any doubt or want to know more about the project feel free to write this email. You can also visit our website http://manamano.org.br/.
