Mission

Saúde Criança (SC) is a civil society organization that works to promote health and human development by implementing and promoting an integrated multidisciplinary approach to fight poverty. A world pioneer in intersectoral work with social determinants of health, it was founded by Dr. Vera Cordeiro, in 1991, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Our objective is to contribute to changing the health and human development framework in society, incorporating an integrated multisectoral approach to fight poverty. For the 8th consecutive year, SC ranked best NGO in Latin America and 21st in the world, according to NGO Advisor, a Swiss publication.
