To the Cycle for Survival community,

Looking back on the events is always an emotional moment. From the extraordinary stories bravely shared, to the indescribable energy created by the Equinox instructors. From the examples of impact told to us by the brilliant MSK doctors and researchers, to the statements of why we ride written on the tribute walls. All of these moments — and each and every one of you — make Cycle for Survival the special, deeply personal, powerful movement we all love.

This year was different. After weeks of riding, cheering, crying, and fighting across the country, with just three days of events left in the 2020 season, the final rides in New York City and Greenwich, CT had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus.

As we watch the 2020 video, we know many of you were able to participate in your event, but many of you were not able to ride. Whether you got on a bike, donated, fundraised, or cheered from afar, please know that your extraordinary accomplishment of raising $40 million for rare cancer research led by Memorial Sloan Kettering is as important as it’s ever been. You make the difference in this fight. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!

Together with the greater MSK Giving community, we look forward to staying connected and sharing stories of hope and progress as we make our way through this.

Thank you for your continued dedication to Cycle for Survival and rare cancer patients around the world. You make so much possible. Together, we will beat rare cancers.

Cycle for Survival 2020 Registration is Open!

2020 registration is open!

Cycle for Survival raised $42 million in 2019 — more than $221 million in over a decade. Every single dollar is directly allocated to rare cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center within six months of the events.

We’re riding in 17 cities across the country in 2020 — including rides in New York City, Long Island, New Jersey, Connecticut, San Francisco, and Los Angeles! Funds raised during these events enable Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center to pioneer research and breakthrough clinical trials. Learn more about how Cycle for Survival works.

Together, we’re making a real difference.

Each year, world leaders in oncology select an area of cancer research that achieved the greatest progress. The American Society of Clinical Oncology 2019 Advance of the Year is “Progress in Treating Rare Cancers,” in recognition of major advances in treatment options for patients with rare cancers. Memorial Sloan Kettering researchers shared what they discovered, and we hope you join us in feeling enormous pride that several of these presentations reflect the impact made by Cycle for Survival.

You and the rest of the Cycle for Survival community helps make research such as this possible:

Dr. Sandra D’Angelo — A multi-center immunotherapy study for patients with metastatic sarcoma
Dr. Rachel Grisham — Research on low grade serous ovarian cancer
Dr. Darren Feldman — A clinical trial comparing two different drug combinations for patients with germ cell tumors
Dr. Benjamin Nacev — Oncohistones (a mutated protein found in some cancers) and other mutations in sarcomas, and applications in cancer care
Dr. Alison Schram — NRG1 fusions in cancer as a promising new therapeutic target
