The Comprehensive Sexuality Education to young people Project by APLAFA continues to provide tools for youth to make informed decisions regarding their sexual and reproductive health.
In the second semester of 2024, the program impacted around 100 young people, who in turn reached approximately 1,330 individuals under the age of 24, allowing them access to talks and workshops on Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE).
Additionally, thanks to the partnership with Fundamorgan, an organization that legally represents women survivors of violence among other aspects, we participated in the International Book Fair. With the support of the Comprehensive Sexuality Education to young people Project, we were able to provide transportation and meals for youth leaders to be present at a booth. Through games, activities, and the distribution of educational materials, we enabled adolescents and young people to access information on identifying early signs of violence in dating, how to prevent STIs/HIV and unintended pregnancies, as well as what to do in cases of sexual abuse and who can support them. During this event, we reached over 5,000 students, teachers, and parents, who expressed interest in delving deeper into these topics.
The Comprehensive Sexuality Education to young people Project continues to develop primarily in the province of Panama and the province of Veraguas, in collaboration with youth leaders.
We thank everyone who continues to believe in youth as agents of social change, especially in the area of defending Sexual and Reproductive Rights.
