APLAFA's Comprehensive Sexuality Education to Young People project continues to empower young people with valuable tools to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health.
As of April 2025, this program has impacted 1,871 young people under 25, who have participated in talks and workshops on crucial topics such as human rights, healthy relationships, sexual and reproductive health, preventing adolescent pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and combating stigma and discrimination.
Additionally, thanks to an invitation from the National Secretariat for Childhood, Adolescence, and Family (SENNIAF), we held a workshop for pregnant adolescents and young mothers focused on comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) and life planning. Participants reflected on their current situations, aspirations, and the steps needed to achieve their goals.
Taking advantage of school vacations, we also reached 18 new youth through the artistic initiative FORJARTE. Through drawing and theater, they expressed the challenges they face in accessing comprehensive sexual education information and proposed ways to educate other young people with accurate information on the topic.
The project continues to develop primarily in Panama Province and Veraguas, in collaboration with youth leaders.
We thank everyone who continues to believe in youth as agents of social change, especially in the defense of Sexual and Reproductive Rights.
