Dear Friends and Supporters,
Every quarter, we are reminded of just how fortunate we are to have benefactors who believe in our mission and make this work possible. No one captures the spirit of that work better than the people who show up, sleeves rolled up, day after day — and we are deeply grateful to the volunteers who make Casa Cuna La Paz possible. The reflection below comes from one such volunteer, who has been part of our family for many years and whose words remind us why this work matters so much.
I have been supporting Casa Cuna La Paz for many years — first through financial contributions, and for the past three years as a volunteer, lending a hand wherever one is needed. That closer involvement has allowed me to witness, firsthand, the near-miraculous work this organization accomplishes with limited staff and resources: creating a healthy, nurturing, and joyful home for so many girls and boys in vulnerable situations. None of this would be possible without the generous support of our benefactors, whose contributions provide the children with what every child deserves — nutritious food, a solid education, and access to medical care.
What strikes me most is the sheer breadth of what must be managed at once. At the heart of everything is the care of the children themselves — a full-time commitment that demands patience, love, and constant attention. Alongside that, the administrative demands are considerable: coordinating adoptions alone involves extensive paperwork, meetings with lawyers, and ongoing communication with government agencies, all while keeping the full daily routine running smoothly. Casa Cuna La Paz also organizes a weekly fundraising bazaar, an undertaking that requires tremendous effort and dedication from everyone involved. Each of these tasks, large or small, serves the same singular purpose: to give these little ones a better chance in life. That, in every sense, is admirable.
The smiles, the milestones, and the small everyday moments of joy that fill Casa Cuna La Paz are possible because of you. Your generosity reaches into the lives of each child we care for, offering them stability, warmth, and hope.
From the bottom of our hearts — and on behalf of every girl and boy at Casa Cuna La Paz — Muchas gracias!
