Supporting Communities, Changing Lives

BBK Quarterly Report 2024-2025 Supporting Communities, Changing Lives

Mothers’ Vision (MV)

All of the children at Mothers’ Vision are now fully sponsored! BBK has sent funding to cover food, essentials, and education for the entire year. This support has ensured stability and a brighter future for every child at the home.

There has been a leadership change, with social worker Hellen stepping in to replace Damaris, who has dedicated many years of service to the children. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Damaris for all her hard work.

The children are thriving at school, and they enjoyed an unforgettable Christmas party at a local hotel—filled with swimming, games, delicious food, and of course, ice cream!

Beyond the children’s home, BBK has provided three rounds of food support to the widows and poorest families in Barani and Pentagon villages.

Each £17 food parcel, sponsored by the Acorn Project, has made a significant difference.

Additionally, Amini has distributed food to around 100 families, and Lucy received funding to feed street children four times this year.

Jesus Healing Ministry (JHM)

The new home for JHM has been a game-changer for the 26 children living there. This secure and comfortable space, set on half an acre of land, has provided stability for children who have lost one or both parents.

Education remains a top priority, with ten children recently completing secondary school. While exam results were mixed, Thomas has successfully passed for university, two students will be retaking exams in July, and others are considering vocational training.

The land at JHM is now being used for farming, growing crops and fruit trees to support the home and generate income.

BBK has also stepped in to support three families in extreme hardship by covering school fees, food, and school uniforms for six additional children. Furthermore, we have provided a wheelchair for a father who lost his legs due to diabetes.

Barani Primary School (BPS)

Betty has played a key role in helping children at Barani Primary School. BBK has funded new school uniforms for over 200 children, giving them confidence and a sense of belonging. We have also covered the cost of food, clothing, shoes, toiletries, school supplies, and fees for the most vulnerable students.

Our period poverty program continues to make an impact, with reusable sanitary wear delivered to Betty’s home from a local Kenyan supplier. Betty ensures these parcels, which also include underwear and soap, reach the students. Through a video link, she educates them on how to use the reusable towels, promoting good hygiene practices. BBK aims to expand this program further and support local production of sanitary wear.

Beyond education, BBK is supporting two extremely poor families by covering their rent and providing food and clothing to children in urgent need. Betty has also arranged medical care for those unable to afford treatment.

One of our biggest achievements this year has been the repair of 14 toilets at BPS, improving sanitation and hygiene for all students.

University Students

BBK continues to support several students pursuing higher education:

  • Jumaa (MV) – Final year of an engineering degree
  • Hatson (JHM) – Third year of a BA in Education at St. Paul’s University, Nairobi
  • Thomas (JHM) – Started university in January 2025
  • James – Studying engineering in Mombasa

Helping Individuals & Families

BBK remains committed to supporting individuals who need life-changing assistance:

  • Mercy, a young girl who has lost a leg, continues to receive new prosthetic limbs as she grows. She is now using her sewing machine to help Mary at Gates of Joy provide school uniforms for children.
  • George suffered severe burns from an electric shock in February. BBK has covered the costs of his extensive hospital treatment, which has helped him make great progress. While his head and back have healed, his hands are still receiving care, and we hope he will fully recover and return to work.
  • BBK has expanded its support to approximately six families, providing food, clothing, and school fees for children in need.

Looking Ahead

This has been a year of incredible achievements, and none of it would be possible without the generosity of our supporters. BBK remains committed to ensuring that children, families, and communities in Kenya have access to education, healthcare, and essential resources.

Together, we are changing lives, one step at a time. Thank you for being a part of BBK’s journey!
