Hi again,

We began 2022 with lots of challenges on the horizon. As you may know, we set the Youth Agenda as one of the main projects in terms of raising rural awareness among youth. That said, we already had some workshops and summits over the last few months that have been proven quite valuable for us. We strongly believe that Colombia is only going to change and move forward if the youth is involved in all conversations, even the most difficult ones.

These are the results of what we did in Cesar and Magdalenda, as part of Agenda Joven.

  • 15 Territorial Agendas activated
  • 2 face-to-face events held by Agenda Joven Cesar and Agenda Joven Magdalena
  • 1 virtual event of Agenda Joven Chocó
  • more than 50 active youth leaders, facilitating the consolidation of territorial nodes and trained in strategic planning processes through the prototype methodology
  • 1 model for network consolidation for incidence tested.
  • Website designed and in use.
  • 1000 people reached through social networks
  • 6 prototypes of prioritized actions to activate territorial agendas
  • Face-to-face course on youth oversight activated in Cesar.

In addition, of the total of active young people in the network, 151 young people lead the formation of territorial nodes; that is to say that 22% of participants have decided to lead their territorial processes. 33 young people leading territorial processes:

Chocó Youth Agenda: 30 young people
Young Cesar Agenda: 35 young people
Caquetá Youth Agenda: 19 participants

Magdalena Youth Agenda: 26 participants

Report 2021 - 4

Hi everyone,

This is definitely a good moment to say thanks for all the support you have given to us. It is not only the end of 2021 but also the beginning of 2022, a year on which we have our hopes set high.

First things first. We finished the rural camp “Soy Campo, Soy Cambio” and we achieved huge success. We had the precious opportunity to share more than 6 weeks with young leaders from across the country. At the graduation ceremony, they shared the outcomes of their digital influencer journey and explained why their ideas are worth supporting. Some of the topics developed during the camp included environmental awareness, mental health, social entrepreneurship, and leadership.

With this, we now have two cohorts of young rural leaders empowered with knowledge and with lots of ideas and good intentions. We hope they will go on ahead and continue being local leaders and change-makers.

If you missed out on the graduation ceremony you can watch it out here:: https://fb.watch/absFBopvbG/

Agenda Joven (Young Agenda)

As you may know from previous reports, we have been working hard on promoting youth in Colombia. Agenda Joven is one of our main strategies for this purpose which is a citizen initiative to develop territorial youth leadership and empowerment in Colombia.

This project seeks to develop youth leadership in regions and territories of Colombia, in order to foster the creation of public policies to support the development of territories, including PDETs areas, which have faced historic violence and lack of presence of the State, such as Magdalena, Caquetá, Chocó, Cesar and Catatumbo.

In those territories, the Colombian State has formulated a special 15-year planning and management instrument, aiming to bring the social and public policy required as a priority and with greater speed to stabilize and transform territories most affected by violence, poverty, illicit economies, and institutional weakness, and thus achieve the rural development required by these municipalities.

This project, developed in different stages, has now completed its 1st stage (identification regional leaders, public policy issues, capacity building opportunities, and youth initiatives), and seeks to increase the reach of the identified activities in a 2nd stage.

As of today, we have a set of regional leaders that are promoting the creation of their own local youth agendas so that in the future their communities can benefit from that. In addition, we launched the official website:

www.agendajoven.org

Finally, we don’t want to miss the chance of highlighting the marvelous support from our mentors Brenda, Laura, Paula, Yessica, Helyn, and Derly from the 2020 camp. Due to their leadership and support, we could improve the camp and evolve into a more digital-social model that fosters innovation and development locally with young rural leaders from across the country.

This is the team that will work twice as hard in 2022 so that we can impact even more farmers and rural communities in Colombia.

That’s all for now, see you at the next report.

Best,

The team at Mas Por TIC.

Hi everyone,

On this occasion we want to share a few exciting news regarding our recent projects, the progress we’ve made as well as our plans for the immediate future.

First of all, we are preparing the second version of our camp “Soy Campo Soy Cambio”. As some of you may remember we held its first version last year and reached around 18 young leaders of 14 different rural areas in Colombia. This year, we are improving some aspects of the camp based on the feedback provided by the participants and the staff of Mas Por TIC.

That said, there are some important aspects that we think may be of your interest. We are inviting youngsters from PDET municipalities, which are communities that were heavily affected by the armed conflict. They will work along with peers from other rural regions with the aim of creating a teamwork environment that empowers different kinds of rural leaders.

We have also improved the mentorship structure and now six of our former participants will mentor the next generation of rural leaders. This is quite an exciting achievement for us especially because all six of them are female leaders that really enjoyed the first version of the camp.

Finally, we also launched the camp’s website (https://www.soycamposoycambio.com/) where you can find all the information related to the camp. There’s a GlobalGiving project soon to be launched that looks to promote and sponsor these rural leaders from PDET municipalities in Colombia, so please stay tuned to our social networks so you can support us to deliver such projects and make them a reality.

That’s all for now, see you at the next report.

Best wishes,

The team at Mas Por TIC.

Hi everyone,

We are once again talking to you after some challenging months that demanded the very best from us. We’re still struggling due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its effects on the country. Nevertheless, the rural area of Colombia has benefited from this as long as digitization and connectivity have improved; the DANE (National Department for Statistics) also confirmed the extreme poverty was reduced only in rural areas during 2020, which despite the circumstances marks a positive for all of us.

Now, we will summarise some of the most important projects we have done during the last few months and that we seek to improve and continue in the upcoming months:

#CuentaSinCuento

Together with Fundación Bancolombia ( the social branch of Colombia’s biggest bank Bancolombia), we launched and deployed #CuentaSinCuento. A digital programme entirely based on WhatsApp where we taught some basic notions of financial education seeking to improve the financial aspects and knowledge of rural communities. We are very pleased with this initiative and maybe we could develop a second stage in the second half of the year. In addition, we hope this kind of innovative programmes can empower and increase financial and digital awareness among rural communities in Colombia.

AgendaJoven

AgendaJoven is a civil society initiative that seeks to empower and promote youth. It involves more than 1.000 participants, mostly people under 35 years of age that want to educate and promote development actions for their communities, which span almost all departments in Colombia. We are supporting this initiative since its creation and we hope this can help empower young people in those zones that were affected by the armed conflict in Colombia that we desperately want to leave behind.

Plan Nacional de Acción en Derechos Humanos (Human Rights National Action Plan).

Finally, we have been participating in a very innovative strategy that involves the participation of all 32 departments of Colombia plus Bogotá (the capital city of the country) by leading the co-creation strategy for the Human Rights National Action Plan. We have completed an impressive feat of leading digital-based conversations with thousands of people from all sorts of contexts and located across all the country.
We are relieved to know that we helped people express their opinions towards Human Rights and undoubtedly we tried to propel the opinions of those in the rural areas so that the national Government can listen to them.

We sincerely hope that as a team we can keep contributing to more communities across the country and our team is fully charged and focused on the second half of this year. Thanks for your continuous support and see you on the next report.

Best wishes,

The team @ Mas Por TIC.

We are very pleased and thankful for what we did in 2020, without your support, commitment, and belief nothing would be possible for us and for our great purpose of "giving opportunities and happiness to farmers and rural youth in areas where equality is needed".

We would like to thank our donors, allies, friends, and followers who have always been supporting us, dreaming together, and making some projects come true. This year and those who come are possible thanks to you. We have so many milestones to celebrate, and we just want to highlight our top achievements for 2020:

The team is now double its size

We impacted 14 different rural areas of Colombia

We launched the #SoyCampoSoyCambio Camp for rural youth

We started the incorporation of a sustainability component in our strategy to close social gaps from agriculture.

We multiplied the income of the foundation times 5

We obtained the support of GG as part of the most important social projects in times of pandemic.

At Más Por TIC we will continue working so that in 2021 we continue to build an inclusive and empowered rural area. Together we will be able to develop agriculture in Colombia, guaranteeing better opportunities for our farmers.

#happy2021 Join us this new year to fulfill many more dreams. #ThanksToYou in 2020 we made progress in the construction of collective dreams, goals that will outline the vision of our organization as a catalyst for better opportunities for our Colombian farmers.

We are aware that during these strange and challenging times of uncertainty we must keep working with belief and commitment so we will be happy to count with all of you during this new year.

Best wishes,
