Brazil is facing one of the worse periods in the country’s history, combining a political crisis and the pandemic, leading it to an economic crisis and uncontrolled inflation. As usual, unfortunately the poor people are the most affected by this, making it ever harder to survive, specially because the prices are getting higher, including food. After been removed from the “hunger map” by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in 2014, Brazil has returned to the scenario of food insecurity in 2022. According to specialists, 15% of brazilian households are hungry and 30% of the families are suffering with insufficient food. Not to mention the population living on the streets, that already doesn’t have access to basic items.
This is why we should keep working, in order to assist the ones who need the most and have no resources to sustain themselves. We are still going through a financial crisis in our organization, hence we count on the support from people like you. During this year, your donation enabled us to reach around 17.000 people living on the streets and under food insecurity with around 26.000 items, including 9.400 ready meals, besides snacks, water, juice, clothes, masks and hygiene kits.
These people need our support, and we can do even more if we join our efforts for them.
"In love and faith we will find the forces necessary for our mission." (Santa Dulce dos Pobres)
Thank you for your kind support!
