The Covid-19 pandemic generated changes in the dynamics of society, impacting people's lives and the organizations activities. Obras Sociais Irmã Dulce (OSID), a non-profit philanthropic institution, had to adapt to this reality, even in the midst of the scarcity of resources inherent to third sector entities.
In order to minimize the risk of spreading the coronavirus, OSID needed to restructure its operations, in addition to investing even more in essential items for this pandemic moment: hygiene and cleaning materials and Personal Protective Equipments. Naming them: masks, gloves, surgical caps, surgical gowns, face shields, alcohol in gel, among other items, which were already part of the health professionals routine, and have become necessary for all employees of the institution, as well as for the patients under our facilities.
Beyond the health services, the organization expanded its field, attending people who live in situations of risk and social vulnerability, whose difficulties worsened at this critical moment. As a way of providing access to basic survival conditions, OSID is distributing basic food baskets and an average of 100 ready meals per day to this public.
In this way, the funds raised with your donation to Obras Sociais Irmã Dulce, through the GlobalGiving platform, in partnership with the Ford Motor Company Fund, will enable the acquisition of these essential materials to protect the health of patients and our professionals, reducing the possibilities of contamination. The amount raised in this campaign can be applied in one of the following ways: 66 basic food baskets; or 526 kits of ready meal + snack + water; or 105 boxes of masks (with 50 units each); or 987 N95 masks; or 425 surgical caps boxes (with 100 units each); or 175 boxes of latex gloves (with 100 units each); or 1,243 disposable surgical gowns; or 316 face shield masks.
Thank you for your kind support!
