TackleLondon and Advancing Education and Oppertunity Through Rugby
TackleLondon addresses the needs of children across London boroughs, particularly those who have experienced Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). By partnering with schools and grassroots rugby clubs, the program provides a safe and inclusive environment where children can develop a sense of belonging and teamwork. Coaches serve as "always available adults," offering stability that is crucial for mitigating the effects of ACEs.
Scientific Backing
Beyond its visible impact, TackleLondon's work is supported by research. A 2019 study linked children's sports involvement to increased hippocampal volume, indicating that exercise may positively influence brain development. Such findings suggest that TackleLondon not only supports emotional well-being but may also contribute to physical neural development in children.

Schools like Riddlesdown, Orchard Park, Meridian High, and St Thomas More Catholic School participated in a touch rugby tournament that celebrated respect, resilience, and unity, values cherished by the late Matt Ratana.
The day included training sessions, competitive matches, and opportunities for students to bond. It was less about winning and more about fostering confidence, teamwork, and community spirit. This event reflects TackleLondon's commitment to creating lasting connections and opportunities for young people.

Seb’s Foundation: Tackling Mental Health Challenges

With suicide being the leading cause of death among UK youth under 35, these efforts aim to provide early intervention and support. Research shows that untreated depression is a major factor in youth suicides, and equipping trusted adults with the skills to recognize and address mental health concerns can save lives.
