Help Get 75 Girls Swimming

Cabarete is a beautiful town on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic and each year thousands of tourists flock to the beaches to participate in water sports. However, very few of the local children, especially girls, have the opportunity to participate in water sports even though it is what makes the Cabarete community unique. Poor children are often left out from the livelihood of their hometown simply because they cannot swim. In fact, most of them are terrified of the water. project reportread updates from the field

Uniforms for the Mariposas

Quality high school education is scarce on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic, and it's still a rarity for a Dominican or Dominican-Haitian child to graduate with a high school diploma. The Mariposa DR Foundation is working to change that by providing the girls we work with academic support and materials. However, the cost of uniforms is high and we still need to outfit our girls for the school year. project reportread updates from the field
