Sharing a few things that happoened at our Child Care Center:
1) An awareness program spanning over a day was organized by “Prajapati Brahmakumari Sansthan”(PBS) of Rajgangpur in SANTI premises. All the Child Care Center staff, the children and some members of PBS attended it. The emphasis was on importance of god, Yoga and on the life philosophy of PBS.
2) Under the “Swachha Bharat” campaign the ‘Swachha Bharat Pakwada’ was organized in the SANTI premises. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission) is a campaign by the Government of India to keep the streets, roads and infrastructure of the country's 4,041 statutory cities and towns and its rural areas clean. Our children participated in the essay writing, debates and drawing competition organized as part of this campaign. The theme for these competitions was cleanliness and its importance in the life of an individual and the nation.
3) “Bana Mohotshav” was celebrated in the month of August(onset of Monsoon) with the help of the forest department.“Bana Mohotshav” is an annual tree-planting movement in India. The festival raises the awareness of trees among people, and highlights the need for planting and tending of trees as one of the best ways to prevent global warming and pollution. About 50 trees were planted in and near SANTI premises by our children.
4) The school has started and the children are studying for the exams to be held soon. Also, they are participating in sports and other extracurricular activities. So, an overall development of personality is happening.
As the children are growing we would need more money on monthly basis to take care of them. So, our request is that if more people can contribute on a recurring month to month basis that would really be a big help. Also, those who are already supporting us on a recurring basis can if possible look to increase their contribution by a few dollars it would help us adjust for the inflation.
Lastly, a big thank you for all of you who have contributed in their own way to make SANTI possible and the progress that we have made and the difference that we are making in the lives of these children would not have been without your support.
“The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others.”
