My nostalgic feeling and visit to SANTI

Dear Friends,
I am lucky to personally meet SANTI Children. It is an amazing feeling to see what we can physically achieve and build back India in a rural place through our regular contribution. It is powerful to see what children are doing few mentioned here.
- Yoga – In morning, children are starting with an inspirational prayer and doing yoga. Performing Yoga and meditation at this age will instill a powerful mind and a fit body. We observed happiness and smile on their face after Yoga practices. What a blissful routine, we wish we can do in our schedule.
- Dance – Mrs. Niharika Mishra is teaching dance class to children. They are learning dances on few songs which will be performed in a future event. Dancing together helped them to build a strong bond.
- New Children - We have included seven (7) new children in our SANTI Child Care Center and our current children headcount is 32. They are already scheduled to join in school. New students Nandita, Muskan and Sujit will join in grade 6, Kartik in Grade 4, Srikant in Grade 2 and Erlen and Prince in Grade 1.
- Sewing – Few children showed interest to learn to sew in summer break. So, they are learning to sew clothing. We believe they will be self-sustained in future.
It feels great to see, together what we have built so far and changed the life of orphan/underprivilege children. It is truly a nostalgic feeling for me to see them in person and wish you can also make a trip to see the fruits of your contribution.

Youth Award from Govt. of India

We have warmer weather coming up and hope you will have some more sun shine. We had a great time in SANTI with so many activities that keep us motivated.
- Santi received the block level Youth Award from Govt. of India through Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) under Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. This award was due to our meaningful and result oriented involvement with youth of rural Rajgangpur area. We are proud to be a part of this award and received INR 8,000 in addition to a certificate.
- On March 22nd we celebrated Holi, a festival of colors, with SANTI children in our premise. It was a whole day long fun playing with colors. Children enjoyed to the best and got really tired, they also had great food.
- We also celebrated birthdays of Sushila, Pawan, Basudev, Shila, Daniel and Jhubli. They had a great cake cutting and fun time. Our children really love the birthday celebrations and look forward to it. If you want to fund some birthdays, please do so as they appreciate your help.
- We are excited to have Earilene, a 7 years old girl who just joined our family as a new child. She needed our help badly and she feels great to be with us. We will share more about her story in future after she gain some experience with SANTI.
- Our children are invited to a marriage ceremony to socially interact with other children and experience a marriage function. Bhagaban Siya an active volunteer and member of SANTI invited all our children to her sister’s marriage.

We are preparing for Navodaya Entrance Exam

Dear Friends,
We wish you a great New Year 2019 and thank you for your kind support in last year. We had done excellent overall progress in various areas and keep continuing to do well in future.
Few highlights of our efforts in last quarter –
- Couple of children filled up the application for Navodaya Vidyalaya entrance exam. Navodaya Vidyalaya system is funded by Central Govt of India, providing excellent overall education in a residential setting. This is a very competitive entrance exam and we wish great luck to our children to be successful. We are interested to help our children to learn and grow including future Bachelors education and we will support them till they are employed. It is a tremendous undertaking and we appreciate your support in this area.
- Organized celebration of birthdays of Seema, Dipti, Yash and Shobhati with a birthday party. Please see photos of the celebration.
- We have provided new winter clothes to our children to tackle current winter season.
- Christmas was celebrated in SANTI with peace and harmony.
- Few children participated in group dance activities – Group A – Sanju, Shila, Poonamprava, Pami, Seema & Sushanti in Sambalpuri song. Group B - Jubli, Payal, Jharana, Jilani and Lovely in Gujurati & Sadri Song.
- We have upgraded part of SANTI Child Care Centre with marble flooring.
