Winning on Independence Day
By Ashok Dandpat | Project Leader

Hello Friends, hope you thoroughly celebrated India Independence day.
SANTI children had a great time during 15th August celebration.
- During the celebration, Artilo won best singer award in school, currently studying in 3rd grade and hopeful to sing better in future.
- Also three children won various prizes in games in Independence day meet. Albina and Pami both won 100 m run, Susanti won in a local game called Puchi.
Looking forward I am positive that our children will form an ecosystem with education, athletic and arts in a harmony.
- Our children are consistently performing really well in games and physical activities. I wish few of them can play in interschool or district level in future.
- Thinking about education, in past we felt not all children are doing well. So we recruited an experienced teacher. She was great at teaching fundamentals and understand the weakness of the children. In past few months, we realized the improvement and particularly one of the child Subha improved a lot. She earns the best student award in 2nd grade. This is remarkable and a confidence booster.
- I am hopeful that we can bring all children to perform at their best level in school.
We will need your support and help to bring the best out of SANTI children.
Thanks

Sanju won best singer award in school !

Sanju
Friends hope you are going to have fun in Memorial Day weekend. We have something great to share.
Recently Sanju won the best singer award at annual function in school ! That’s amazing isn’t it, this school consists of students from local people not only SANTI children? I look back a little. When she was seven year old she lost her dad. As a laborer, her mother was unable to keep up with Sanju and her brother’s need. We realized this when doing survey for children who need support. We provided helping hand and brought her to SANTI home. Then she never looked back. Currently she is in 4th grade, studying pretty well and also Monitor of the class. When I asked her what she wants to be in future, she replied “I want to be a singer”. What a dream! I exclaimed. But I believe, together we can fulfill her dream.
There is a need to provide individual bed for each child along with tables to study comfortably. We have been trying since past but unable to have sufficient funding to support. We need about $ 1600 to make it happen, hope you can come forward to donate through Globalgiving.
Thanks
Ashok Dandpat

Dear Friends SANTI children are grateful to your support and wish you to fulfill all your wishes in 2015.
In last report, I mentioned my in person experience with SANTI children. I and my wife were deeply involved in SANTI children activities. Many ideas were implemented since then and started to show better results.
My long term goal is to build an overall SANTI student body with varied interest and skills not only study but also in sports. On 26th January Republic day of India a local industry named Orissa Cement Limited organized a municipality school level athletic competition. Many schools participated in this event and SANTI children were also participated with strong interest.
We are proud of Poonam and Albina who won 1st and 2nd position in 100 meter run competition. We are proud of their win as mentioned below.
- Jasita - 2nd – Skipping
- Poonam -1st - 100 meter run
- Albina - 2nd - 100 meter run
- Mandeep - 2nd - frog jump(Boy)
- Susanti - 1st – Puchi
- Ashish - 2nd - 100 run (Boy)

Mr. Sarat Pati is leading our effort in India for SANTI children. He is a strong supporter and follower of sports activities and without his personal interest this kind of achievement is not possible.
These children are in primary school and I wish they will continue this success and winning attitude in future. Please keep continue your support as we have a long way to go.
Thanks again and also please support building roof project by SANTI.
