NOWPDP’s Falah interventions are dedicated to identifying and providing wheelchairs and other assistive devices to beneficiaries who need them the most. Through extensive outreach efforts, our teams identified the most vulnerable persons with disabilities (PWDs) from the most marginalized regions of Sindh.
Your generous contributions in the past few months have allowed us to provide 24 wheelchairs to PWDs in Tharparkar and Shaheed Benazirabad. These districts are some of the poorest in Sindh and the PWDs residing there experience dual marginalization due to the instersectionality of poverty and disability. As a result, the PWDs and their families do not possess the financial resources needed for acquiring assistive devices such as wheelchairs.
Assistive devices serve as crucial pathways of empowerment and help PWDs reclaim their mobility, enabling them to access healthcare and economic opportunities. By facilitating the mobility of PWDs, NOWPDP is paving the path for their inclusion in society as equitable citizens. Your continued support is crucial for allowing us to serve PWDs across Pakistan and provide them with assistive devices that are essential for their empowerment.
