Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could get water flowing to multiple villages from a main pipeline--a "water yard'. Right now in Darfur whole villages are in desperate need of water. Surface water saved in hafirs has long since dried and the water table has dropped so people cannot dig for water. Their only hope is a handpump which can be miles away across the desert. In 2015, with your help, Kids for Kids, began working on plans that would provide clean water in their first every 'water yard' and very soon now, the clean water will be flowing to Kulkul and multiple villages that surround it!
So much work has been accomplished and we are expecting the electric generator for this new submersible pump this week! It has been dug, and tried and tested ....and it will make a massive difference to hundreds of people and transform the prospects and prospertiy of not only Kulkul be surounding villages too.
The people of Kulkul have suffered greatly from fighting in the conflict in Darfur. This gift of water will help them recover. And your help and kindness are bringing this dream to reality. A 'water yard' costs nearly $50,000, a huge amount to raise, but it can also do so much more than a simiple hand pump--and thus is more efficient where it is possible.
When you contribute to Water--the gift of life for chidlren in Darfur, you are making the clean water flow. That means children will live--and have the chance to go to school, instead of walking miles for dirty water. Women will not have to take dangerous journeys. Goats will survive to give milk to hungry children.
