20 More Villages to Receive Food and Soap

By Sage Lancaster | Fundraising and Outreach Coordinator

Food Packs and Bars of Soap for Families

Three years after conflict erupted in Sudan, the humanitarian crisis continues to deepen. What began as an emergency has become a daily struggle for survival for millions of families across Darfur. Today, around 34 million people need urgent humanitarian assistance (OCHA), and more than 21 million face acute food insecurity.

Kids for Kids has continued to reach families in remote villages, providing essential aid through our unique network of local volunteers. With your help, we are able to continue delivering practical support directly to those who need it most.

Earlier this month we were able to approve our next aid project, helping 2,737 more families across 20 villages. We will be delivering essential nutrition and hygiene supplies to each family: 2 kg Lentils, 2 kg Ground Nuts, 1 kg Beef Jerky, and 5 Bars of Soap. That is 10,948 more children who will have food to eat and soap to keep clean with.

We are also delighted to share that a handpump in Gawir Village (adopted in 2021) was repaired last month, restoring access to clean water for families who had been struggling without it close by. For women and girls, a working handpump is a source of both water and security. Having clean water nearby means they do not have to make long and often dangerous journeys across the desert, where they can be vulnerable to violence. Clean water will reduce the risk of diseases such as cholera and help families stay healthy.

Every donation you make helps us protect more children living in conditions of extreme deprivation. We are so grateful for your help.
