DLW is a Norwegian NGO and our mission is to give Brazilian young adults from less developed areas, a fighting chance for a better future through access to quality education and decent employment opportunities.
Introduction
Dear friends of Dream Learn Work, new features and big changes has happened in our 2nd Semester of 2023.
July and August
In August we closed a new partnership with Yinson and fifteen young women could be able to start taking four courses in the Administrative Area at Senai Institution in Rio de Janeiro. The courses are: Human Development, Administrative Assistant, Advanced Excel and Personal Department, in addition to a visit to the Company for the students to experience one day at work.
Three other students also got an opportunity as Young Apprentices at Yinson, taking an important step in their careers.
Our General Manager decided to follow other dreams living a remarkable path with us and Crislaine assumed her position bringing a vast experience and a commitment to excelence. Additionaly, we welcomed Vanessa who joined us as the new Commercial Manager, with her determination to build strong relationships, she is bringing new ideas to improve our work.
September and October
Our young Ketlen and Bruna successfully completed their Technical Course in Nursing.
On October 9th, Dream Learn Work had the honor of participating in an event organized by the Norwegian Chamber of Commerce and the Norwegian Consulate in Rio de Janeiro, where 12 students were recognized and honored for their remarkable student path.
November and December
Our young Thiago successfully completed his English course after six years of study, and our young Cleiton successfully completed the Electrotechnics course in CNG Installation and Maintenance.
In November we participated in the November Conference 2023 - Research and Innovation for the Energy Transition. During the event, we had the opportunity to showcase the positive impact our educational and employability programs works. Four students from our program were selected to work during the two days of the Conference and their participation offered an opportunity to acquire pratical knowledge and networking.
On November 24th we held our 2023 Graduation Ceremony and it was a remarkable celebration, bringing together the students, our staff and Directors, and our Coporate Partners of Dream Learn Work. This event not only provides recognition to the students for their dedication and commitment, but is also an opportunity for them to create connections and exchange experiences.
Even with the challenges posed by the change of the management in DLW and the search for new partners, we are ending this year with the feeling of duty accomplished as we offered the opportunity for more than 121 students to obtain quality education and enployment. We hope to incrise this number substantially by 2024.
