TOGETHER, WE STITCH FAITH AND DIGNITY. In Larteh & Accra, Ghana, the Constantine African Foundation is launching a Vestments Tailoring Workshop, the first Orthodox vestment training center in West Africa. Your support will train 20 youth, fund sewing machines and fabrics, and create lasting income for families and their community. Every stitch preserves tradition, builds hope, and inspires change. #FaithInAction
IN GHANA, YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT EXCEEDS 30% ACCORDING TO NATIONAL LABOR DATA, and many women, especially in peri-urban and rural areas, lack access to affordable vocational training. TRADITIONAL TAILORING KNOWLEDGE IS FADING, while modern production technologies remain out of reach. As a result, families face a generational cycle of poverty and dependence on aid, and institutions such as churches must import vestments instead of producing them locally, losing both cultural value and opportunity.
CONSTANTINE FOUNDATION, will launch a 3-month Vestment Tailoring. Participants will receive hands-on training in sewing, pattern making, and vestment embroidery using both manual and state-of-the-art multi-head embroidery machines (16- and 32-head models). Each trainee will have access to materials, mentorship, and shared equipment to master modern production techniques, This project transforms poverty into productivity, creating lasting jobs and dignity through skill, faith, and innovation.
Thirty artisans will gain stable income within a year, supporting 120 family members and inspiring their communities to dream beyond survival. Within five years, the workshop will grow into a self-sustaining enterprise, reinvesting 20% of revenue to train new artisans and modernize equipment. Churches will source vestments locally, keeping wealth and pride in local hands. Every contribution turns compassion into opportunity, skill into dignity, and faith into independence that endures.
