Our urgent relief aid is focused on the situation in Goma, Bukavu, Uvira, Burundi and Kalemie
With donations from COHERE we have managed to provide food to some refugee leaders in difficult situation, we have also distributed soap to refugees, IDPs and flood survivors in Uvira in order to fight against Cholera, we have also managed to distribute sugar, salt and hygiene kits to women especially those who gave birth.
The war in both South Kivu and North Kivu completely affected the existing livelihood activities of the most vulnerable people, and on top of that most of international humanitarian organizations left, and people cannot access their gardens because on insecurity.
We remain the only on ground to provide whatever we can, sometimes encouraging people to share the little they have, some helping people with information, sometimes guiding them on what they can do, sometimes changing public perceptions towards the most needy, sometimes counselling. In each situation we are doing a lot that may not be recorded in order to respond.
The situation in Kalemie is now going out of our control because we have not been to respond, but we are happy that we can make the world to know what is happening there through our reports.
You kind find more information about the situation in Kalemie through this link:
