Things are going well and very well !

First of all, with the support of 3 nutrition interns, we have collected the health data of almost all the children in school, that is to say about 1800 !
Thanks to this information, we have been able to identify the general state of health and especially to know to what extent the children suffer from malnutrition. Preliminary results indicate that less than 1% have health problems. For this reason, we are already working hand in hand with the health centers.

We also already have the first harvests from the school gardens! Lettuce, onions, beets, carrots, potatoes ... With the support of the interns we are making recipes so that the vegetables are incorporated in the best way in the lunch of the students.

We are also working with some "pilot" families to implement the school gardens into family gardens! Larger ones to cover the needs of each member of the family.

All this work is possible thanks to the technical team in the field, conducting training workshops in the communities and schools. We are very happy because we have been able to take a huge step forward, and we are sure that thanks to the implementation of family gardens we will contribute even more to the improvement of the health of the families in the North Postosi.

Today we are happy.

The students (approx. 900) started school. And to start the school year off right, we have implemented school gardens in 16 communities! We hope that thanks to them we will be able to improve their nutrition. We are also working with the cooks so that they can incorporate the vegetables they produce into their students' diets.
In order to make it a habit, we have also worked with the parents, so that the students can take this practice to their homes.

Each school garden has its own micro-irrigation system and water storage tank so that it can produce vegetables almost all year round.

Also for this purpose, in order to be sure of the change in their health, we have 3 young people who are doing an internship. They are doing a nutritional study. All 16 educational units are visited. Weight, height, age and eating habits are taken. In order to know the current nutritional status of all students.

The next steps: the 3 interns will conduct training workshops for teachers and cooks. Recipes will also be prepared, so that the students can have a balanced meal with delicious vegetables produced in their gardens.

With your support, we will achieve more.

During the process of change, carried out by the elections in our government, the work carried out in San Pedro de Buena Vista to the north of Potosí did not change at all, we continued our project forward.

Carrying out our work with the population, we still managed to advance our goals, thus putting together and getting this project ready for 2021.

It is now when we need more of your support, everyone closes their help in this pandemic season, in any case with our work and commitment the entire municipality of San Pedro de Buena Vista believes and trusts in the work we do to reach more poor families in Bolivia.

We all need to be clean
We all need to be clean

8 months since the beginning of the pandemic, the most affected places are the main cities in Bolivia, other affected places were large towns that are close to the citys.

Remote places, such as San Pedro de Buena Vista, we only got few cases, but due to the speed with which we were able to act, we managed to have only 2 to 3 insured cases in town, which could be taken to be cared for in the city, thus the town continued with no new cases.

With SODIS we are taking care of all the communities where we work, teaching from children to adults the care that hand washing means today, and we continue all our projects.

With your support we will achieve more.

Rural areas like San Pedro de Buena Vista, are having concers about Covid-19 in their town, still the work building kitchens and bathrooms is strong.
We managed to build kitchens and bathrooms for 13 new families, taking into account the care that must be taken, our work is progressing at a moderate pace.
Likewise, we are teaching all families the responsibility to wash their hands and the care they have to have with the covid 19, teaching schools and families to follow the example.
It is the time to take care of ourselves and take into account the social distance in that time of the pandemic.
