Dear Friends,
For the last few weeks, life here in the UK has been slowly opening up - visits to families and friends, shops and restaurants opening. There is caution but great hope that we might soon be able to return to work in the 'real world'.
For the moment though we have been continuing our work online. Most recently as part of our Prison Chronicles series we held a conversation with Phill Iveson, a former staff member of HMP Parc in Wales. He talked with Sandra Barefoot from The Forgiveness Project about the power of vulnerability and sharing your story, the importance of compassion and knowing that, 'there by the grace of god go I'...
Our final talk in this series is this week with Jason Grant who will be talking with Sandra about identity, collective and systemic trauma and how sharing your story can sometimes do more harm than good. You can find out more on this and all our events here.
If you are a professional interested in learning more about our model then you may be interested in our course, Working with stories of lived experience – the transformative power of storytelling. A new course designed to explore approaches and perspectives relating to forgiveness, restorative narratives, shame and resilience. Dates for the summer course will be posted shortly.
Thank you so much for all your support through these very difficult times - the work wouldn't be possible without you.
Warmest wishes,
The Forgiveness Project Team
