Friends and Donors,
Social Development International (SDI) is announcing the end of community Teenage Mothers workshops for Bolifamba and Muea communities after eight months of intense learning and sharing. The combined end of field activities took place on saturday November 02, 2013 at the Bolifamba Health Centre Hall in Buea, South West Region, Cameroon. In attendace were some invited guardians, parents of the teenage mothers as well as the teenage mothers themselves and children.
They are now graduates to the next level of capacity building from a weekly session to a monthly workshops and attending the teenage mothers Institute for literacy, practical livelihood and business development courses. We are moving on to new communities of Likomba, Tiko Town and Mutengene of Tiko sub division.
The event activities were:
In the opening , the CEO speech appreciated the turn out from the two communities; one hundred and twenty initially registered but today we have seventy active participant through the eight months intense activities. This shows that we still have a lot of work to do in this communities..we are their agent of change. We should keep on interacting with them for a change.
The parents' representative thanked Social Development Intermational, Global Giving and The Girl Effect Fund for work well done. The teenage mothers expressed their sincere thanks to all those who have in one way or the other must have contributed to their new sense of reasoning especially Global Giving, The Girl Effcet fund and Social Development International team in Cameroon.
They claimed they have been empowered and we believe them from the sketches, sense of humor and reasoning compare to when we first met them. They expressed that , we continued the support we started in their new life and business development endeavours they so cherished.
