Girls' Tech Documentation Center Established and Women Monitoring Women

Friends, Donors and Supporters!

The “GIRLs’ TECH Documentation Center” established with eight computers costing, one photocopier costing, three long tables costing and ten chairs costing, internet equipment, installation and three months usage bill, International call box costing, Scanner costing, Fridge. This center is geared towards equipping girls and young women with practical secretariat documentation skills, knowledge and aptitude (SKA) for self-employment and jobs in Computer, Information technology, clerical duties and secretary ship. Total US$5 205

In the months of November to December 2014 and January 2015, we were able to monitor and follow up the activities of four women groups in Tole, Tiko, Mutengene, Mamu Villages and five teenage mothers groups in Bolifamba, Muea, Tole, Tiko Villages on implementation of entrepreneurship and financial literacy training SKA.
During these visits we were able to assist them; draw up implementation plans for group businesses and plans for sourcing seed money within Cameron micro finance Institutions, while hoping to get funding from our supporters, friends and donors. Seed money of US$ 450 has been given to four teen mothers to start self-reliant ventures in Bonduma and Tole villages.

2014 Achievement in brief:
1. Well-equipped Teen Mothers’ Institute situated in Buea, up and running smoothly;
2. 80 teen mothers get medical coverage for a year;
3. One hundred and fifty teen mothers trained on life and livelihood skills, knowledge and aptitude;
4. A handicap family girl child sent to school in Tole village;
5. Sensitization, education on the plight of the girl child on International women’s day and international day of the Girl Child; with radio discussion and hand bills distribution.
6. Twenty-five women groups trained on Entrepreneurship and financial literacy in Buea, and Tiko subdivisions.
7. Three trained teenage mothers given jobs at the Teenage Mothers Institute, etc.

We can do more with the continued support of THE GIRL EFFECT FUND and our project supporters, friends and donors.
