Dear Partner,
I bring you greetings from Girls Education Mission International.
It is my pleasure to infor you that Girls Education Mission International is Partnering with KSH Foundation on a program - EveryGirl 2.0 (Girl Connect) - a program aimed at empowering young women between the ages of 17 to 21 in underserved communities to become internet savvy.
The primary goal of Girl Connect is to educate participants on the utilization of the Internet for continued education, livelihood opportunities, and personal development. To achieve this, the program will provide participants with training, an enablement in the form of a laptop device, and mentorship to support their journey beyond the program.
EveryGirl program aligns with GEM International's goal which is to equip girls with the resources, tools, and experiences they need to reach their full potential. Thus the collaboration with KSH Foundation to make this program a success.
The EveryGirl program consist of two phases: a virtual phase and a physical immersion phase. During the virtual phase, participants will engage in courses designed to introduce and reinforce Internet literacy over two weeks. The immersion phase will involve participants utilizing internet platforms to showcase why they should be selected to participate further. Selected participants will receive an all-expense-paid trip to Abuja for a 5-day immersion experience, along with mentorship for 90 days.
Girls EducationMission International has identified and nominated 12 young women within the age bracket 17 and 21 from communities in Jos who would benefit from this opportunity. The girls will be attending the virtual sessions daily at GEM hub.
We hope to bring you more updates on the progress of the program.
