This project equips girls with skills in business development, management, and organization. Through entrepreneurship training, vocational programs, and practical sessions, participants gain the knowledge and tools to start and grow small businesses, overcome challenges, increase income, and achieve economic independence, fostering sustainable growth, self-reliance, and long-term empowerment.
Like many women globally, Nigerian girls face gender inequality and limited opportunities for economic independence. They often lack motivation, education, and livelihood skills needed for self-reliance. The 2025 VAWG Data Sprint by Girls Education Mission International revealed that girls consistently identify economic stability as essential to reducing vulnerability and dependency.
This project empowers disadvantaged young women through three-month vocational, technical, and entrepreneurial training in areas like computing, catering, fashion design, and hairdressing. Participants attend seminars, receive mentorship, and are awarded start-up grants to launch small businesses. By building skills, confidence, and support networks, the project fosters self-reliance and sustainable economic independence.
This project will reduce poverty and gender inequality by creating employment opportunities for low-income women. By equipping vulnerable girls and their households with skills, resources, and sustainable livelihood opportunities, it promotes economic stability, self-reliance, and long-term empowerment, fostering stronger communities and breaking cycles of dependence across generations.
