1 in 3 teens experience relationship abuse – but it doesn't have to be this way. Domestic and dating violence are preventable, and lasting change is possible.
Since 2006, our Prevention Education program has worked to address the problem at the root – teaching thousands of teens each year about practicing consent and how to navigate relationships in a way that feels safe and meaningful to them.
In 2024 alone, we reached 2,637 high school students!
We're proud to partner with Volunteers of America Oregon Home Free in this critical work, and together also offer Confidential Advocacy (one-on-one support) for teens at all 9 Portland Public high schools – so young people have the aid they deserve in the wake of dating and sexual violence.
Alongside youth and our partners, we're building a future without abuse.
Meet Julia, School-Based Prevention Site Coordinator
"As an advocate, I get to provide a dedicated space for students to ask questions and make informed choices without the looming fear of me sharing their information.
Ultimately, I want everyone to know that violence is not inevitable. We get to imagine – and practice – what kind of world we want to have for our community.
