Building Community Through Care

As part of the Karanasan sa Pamayanan initiative, Senior High School students participated in a one-day community engagement activity that combined learning, creativity, and service.
A highlight of the activity was the Care Doll-making session, where students created handmade Huggable Dolls to be donated to children in need. Each doll carried a heartfelt message of hope and encouragement, allowing students to express compassion through a simple yet meaningful act of kindness.
Through the activity, students experienced firsthand how creativity and service can make a difference in the lives of others. The initiative fostered the values of compassion, bayanihan, and volunteerism, while reminding students that even a simple handmade creation can bring comfort, hope, and joy to a child facing difficult circumstances.

Learning from Coastal Communities in Lobo, Batangas

Galing Pamayanan once again brought advocates to the coastal communities of Lobo, where participants immersed themselves in the everyday realities of protecting and caring for the marine environment. The activity provided participants with meaningful experiences alongside local communities dedicated to environmental conservation.
Participants explored the mangrove areas through a guided walk and boat ride, learning about the different mangrove species that help protect the coastline. This was followed by mangrove potting and coral reef monitoring activities, where participants observed coral conditions and identified fish species to better understand the health of the marine ecosystem. The immersion also included hands-on nipa weaving sessions and a kubo painting activity that added color and warmth to the community space.
The experience concluded with “living the life,” where participants gained a deeper appreciation of the daily routines and simple way of life of community members. Through Journey of the Heart, participants were reminded that immersing themselves in communities goes beyond witnessing change, it means becoming part of it.

Building Capacity and Creating Impact

In 2025, Galing Pamayanan empowered 226 community members through targeted capacity-building trainings, enhancing their knowledge, skills, and leadership. These sessions equipped association, cooperative, and people’s organization members to strengthen and sustain their development programs.
Support was also extended to 357 individuals across 14 people’s organizations and cooperatives, helping community-based social enterprises grow and thrive, strengthen local livelihoods, and promote holistic economic development. Additionally, 312 local and international participants joined Karanasan sa Pamayanan and Journey of the Heart, fostering people, planet, and prosperity through ecotourism and social enterprise. These initiatives created meaningful connections between participants and communities, showcased sustainable practices, and supported local livelihoods.
