Our emergency centers in Syria, Lebanon, Rohdes and other parts of the Middle East still distribute primary goods to families that live in a neverending condition of emergency. As the emergency status doesn't seem to have any end at sight, Pro Terra Sancta is trying to find ways to keep up the aid but make it sustainable at the same time.

The new project of a kitchen for the poor in Aleppo, that was developed in the past months, moves in this direction.

For years, the association has distributed food parcels to the neediest families in Aleppo but, due to the power crisis most of the families are now unable to even cook in their homes. To respond to this need one hand we are trying to supply solar panels to families ( as specified here: https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/turn-on-a-light-in-syria/), on the other we opened a kitchen for the poor where we are able to prepare more than 1,000 warm meals every day.

In this way families that are unable to cook at home can have ready meals to bring home. In some cases if the people are unable to come and retire their meal due to health problems, we also offer a delivery service made possible thanks to  the volunteers of the project.

The cost of one meal is 2$ and with the actual budget we're able to provide around 1,000 meals but we hope soon to be able to double the budget since the need is growing day by day.

Support our struggles to fight poverty and malnutrition in Aleppo!

Millions of people in the area of the Middle East known as Holy Land, are in great need due to war, economic crisis and the covid-19 emergency.

  • In Lebanon the crisis has worsened during the last months: there is a great need of medicines and the cost of primary goods has increased drammatically.
  • Syria has been in war for eleven years now and the economic sanctions and medical emergency are killing any spring of hope left, pushing many to flee. Overall, 14.1 million people where in need of some form of humanitarian assistance in Syria in 2021.
  • It is now possible to travel in Israel and Palestine, but two years of covid lockdowns have increased the need of families especially in the West Bank, Bethlehem and Bethany for example lived entirely on tourism.

Diverse and interlinked needs are widespread throughout the Middle East. These are driven by the cumulative long-term consequences of the Education need, together with active hostilities, multiple and continuing displacements, eroding resources, and dynamics linked to spontaneous IDP and refugee returns, increasing the stress on already overburdened communities.

Through our emercency centers we where able to support more than 5.000 families through:

  • Distribution of basic needs packs
  • Sanitary kits and health care
  • support for family costs such as: food, light, fuel for heating
  • water tanks installation

This Lent support our Charity project during April Little by Little campaign: all eligible donations up to $50  will be matched at 50%. Help us bring aid to more families in the Holy Land!

Dear Friend

Christmas is approaching and with our projects we are bringing hope to all those families in the Holy Land who are suffering from the economic, political and social crisis (exacerbated by the Covid emergency).

With the money we have collected we have started many small aid projects that are very important for those who live in this area.

We have a duty to help those who suffer and those who are less fortunate than us. We are all brothers, and our brothers who live in this area are in great need of our help.

Let us give hope to our brothers and sisters in the Holy Land with a donation, which together with all the others will become a great help to those in need.

Thank you very much

Dear friend,

Thank you for your support for the charitable aid project to the Holy Land! With the money collected it was possible to provide food and medicine to the population, tried by the war and the health emergency due to the covid.

With this project, Associazione pro Terra Sancta supports the religious who daily welcome the Christians most in difficulty, and helps families to cope with the most immediate needs such as the purchase of medicines, the coverage of unforeseen expenses, economic support to allow children to attend schools. In particular, the Association wants to be close to the religious in welcoming the most needy: people with disabilities, often forgotten in the disorder of humanitarian emergencies.

The project continues and we still need your help.

Thank you!

Michele Baldini
