Dear Supporters,
Happy new year!
In 2022, we completed the construction of a rice mill at Mbando village, registered with the coordinating body of NGOs in Malawi and also did a successful financial audit.
We have started off 2023 with receiving three interns for supporting our work. Two of them are from University of Glasgow and the third is a high school student from Eton. They will be supporting us with communications, developing articles and blogs.
The Rice Mill at Mbando village is fully functional and we receive happy videos from time to time of the women utilising the mill to generate income.
Our focus this year is to revamp the e-learning center. A solar energy technician visited Mbando last weekend to inspect the solar system and reported that the batteries need to be replaced. It has been over five years since we installed the system. Replacing the batteries will cost MK 500,000 (around $500). We also need to replace the two bulbs and begin conducting trainings for the e-learning center users, who are 150 in total.
Your continued support is expected as we revamp the e-learning center this year. Hopefully we can buy more laptops too.
Take care and keep well!
