Project Report | May 2, 2011
Initiation of fund raising activities by youths

By Sidhi Bajracharya | Program Officer

New school session in Nepal just started in April third week.

Initiation of fund raising activities by youths involved in ECCA

Youth are always considered as change agent and possess energy for bringing positive changes. In order to support achieving the objective of support-a-child campaign, the enthusiastic youth counselors of ECCA have come together with fund generation events. The team initiated activities such as book selling, T-shirt selling, coin collection etc. and were able to add extra fund for the campaign. These initiatives (though small) not only add up the extra fund enough to support several students but also help to disseminate the campaign information at local level and increase local interest. The team is determined to increase the participation of local people for more support. The team has planned for several fund generating small events in the coming days, such as open market (in which all individuals participate to buy and/or sell re-usable materials), documentary show, charity show, amateur child related photo competitions etc. Though the amount collected through these activities may be small, the effort of youths will definitely add up energy for achieving the objectives of the campaign.

We thank all those who have supported us in this endeavour.
