Shree Minnath Adarsha Shikya Sadan Secondary School is located at Tangal, Lalitpur District, and is dependent on government fund for its operation. Although government of Nepal has announced free education for the students till grade 8 and government is supporting the schools for the operation cost of school, students need to pay admission and examination fees in school because, the funds allocated by the government is not enough for the operation of school administration. Sushma Bista (13 Yrs), studying at grade 8 at the same school is one of the student who has been supported through Support-A-Child Campaign being initiated through ECCA. She has been supported with her educational materials (books & Stationery) and her partial school fees. She is among one of the talented student studying in her class. Sushma is the elder daughter in her family. She has one younger brother of 10 yrs of age and one younger sister of 13 yrs of age. 4 years earlier, Sushma's father left home without telling anything to her family members and doesn't knows anything about him. Hence, her mother Mrs.Mandira Bista is the only person, struggling to earn some money to maintain their family of four through selling vegetables at the local market. Sushma helps her mother regularly in her earning activities, and in the times when her mother fells sick, she is in intense pressure with the earning works as well as performing her regular school studies and works. Even though with the hard works selling vegetables in the market, Sushma's mothers earnings is insufficient to afford food, shelter and education for all the three kids. Hence, the deteriorating economic condition of her family, she circumstances forced to leave her education as her family could not pay her school fees and afford to purchase for the educational materials. Considering her capabilities, talent and her family & social economic condition, school teachers requested ECCA to support for Sushma's education. After consideration, Support-A-Child Campaign supported Sushma with her educational materials and school fees so that she could resume her education. She seems very happy that she could pave the way for her education and step towards the direction for her bright career. We wish her success in her study and in every step of her life. We would also like to thank all the donors, well-wishers and GlobalGiving team for making us capable to support such a needy student to change her life. We still need and hope to do a lot in the days ahead. And we anticipate the same type of cooperation from you all. Thank-You-All.
