!Your contribution is essential to support more children with cancer!
Today I want to tell you about the case of Wilmar, a father who came to the Foundation some years ago because his son was diagnosed with acute leukemia.
His son received the comprehensive and timely treatment required to cure leukemia, and today he is a happy survivor of childhood cancer. In gratitude, Wilmar joined the Foundation this year as a volunteer, to give back a little of everything he received when his son was in treatment. As a parent, he knows how difficult it is to face with cancer in a child, which is why he wants to help other children and their parents overcome the challenges that the disease brings.
We love having sensitive volunteers like Wilmar who are able to understand the anxieties and fears that children and their families experience in the face of cancer. For the new parents it means a great help, because listening to Wilmar and knowing that he lived the same, makes them feel an unequaled empathy.
What do you think of this volunteering? How do you think we could continue to contribute to the well-being of families of children with cancer?
