From the Foundation we feel very happy and grateful to the allied hospitals that allow us to accompany children with cancer during their hospitalization.
The trust they have placed in us has allowed our collaborators day by day to prepare the most fun workshops so that children with cancer can have pleasant moments during their hospitalization.
Our psychologist Andrea has done a great job preparing various workshops for hospitalized children, she arrives on the pediatric oncology floor with a big smile and invites the children to participate. Pablo is one of them, he is 9 years old and has acute leukemia. He set out to do his art therapy session with the psychologist, in which he had fun painting, but what he did not know is that the psychologist identified some of his emotions as anger, anxiety, and fear. Without a doubt, the art therapy session was healing for Pablo because through art as therapy he was able to express his emotions associated with the health-disease process, understand that it is normal to feel this way, and identify better ways to manage those emotions.
Time passes faster when we play, so Andrea's visits leave Pablo less free time to focus on the pain or discomfort of treatment, or missing home and school. Pablo feels much better, to move forward one day at a time.
