Title: Alkhidmat Expands Access to Education with New Chownra Schools in Tharparkar
Summary
Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has established two new Chownra (Hut) Schools in the remote desert region of Tharparkar, Sindh, further strengthening access to quality education for underserved children. With these additions, Alkhidmat is now operating 26 Hut Schools, serving 840 students with the support of 30 dedicated teachers.
Story / Update
Thousands of children in remote areas of Tharparkar face barriers to education due to poverty, distance, and a lack of educational facilities. To help bridge this gap, Alkhidmat Foundation continues to expand its network of Chownra (Hut) Schools, bringing learning opportunities directly to marginalized communities.
The inauguration of two new schools marks another important step in ensuring that children in remote desert settlements have access to a safe and supportive learning environment. These schools provide foundational education and encourage enrollment among children who might otherwise remain out of school.
Today, Alkhidmat's 26 Chownra Schools across Tharparkar are providing educational opportunities to 840 students, guided by 30 committed teachers who are helping shape a brighter future for the region's children.
Through these efforts, Alkhidmat is empowering communities through education and creating pathways toward long-term social and economic development.
