A Father's Journey: Rebuilding Life After Loss

By Vasim Cablut | Project Leader

Dear Supporter,

We are honored to share the inspiring journey of Khaled, a resilient father from Aleppo whose life was profoundly impacted by conflict but transformed through your generous support.

Khaled, a father of three and a construction worker, faced an unimaginable hardship when a shelling incident resulted in the loss of his right leg below the knee while he was on his way to work. This injury not only took his mobility but also stripped him of the ability to provide for his beloved family. Forced to flee his home, he embarked on a painful displacement journey from Aleppo to the countryside of Idlib, finally finding refuge in the city of Al-Bab.

In Al-Bab, Khaled visited our NSPPL center, where he was welcomed with compassion and dignity. Thanks to your continued support, we were able to offer Khaled a prosthetic limb—carefully manufactured, fitted, and accompanied by personalized training. Today, Khaled walks on his own once again. More than that, he has regained his independence and is preparing to return to work to support his family with pride.

Khaled’s words during his final visit to the center echo in our hearts: “I was dead, and today I feel alive again.” His transformation is a powerful testament to the life-changing impact of your contributions.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Your compassion gave Khaled a second chance. With more support like yours, many others can reclaim their lives and dignity.

Warm regards,
