STEMulate™ Change Program

Transforming Today's Students into Tomorrow's Leaders through Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM)

Utilizing historical figures, STEMulate™ Change provides students with hands-on, engaging STEM learning experiences that integrate problem solving skills within 3 content areas – English Language Arts (ELA), Math, and Science/Engineering.

STEMulate™Change provides students with a first-time STEM experience through summer and after-school outreach programs.

STEMtistics

Our summer outreach program effectively served 180 students at 6 community centers.  During the 4 week program, a diverse group of students ages 9-18 participated (the majority were 9-12 years of age).  50% of the participants were boys and 50% were girls.  The program will be expanded to multiple community centers and schools as an after school program beginning this fall.

Promoting Teamwork!

Through our outreach program, students are taught the importance of collaboration in STEM, problem solving, and in life!  The curriculum provides students with the opportunity to explore the lives of real STEM American and Global Icons.  They learned about comets and utilized the engineering design process for projects such as building rockets, which they needed to successfully land on a target that represented the moon, and creating tin foil boats that could stay afloat while carrying "cargo".
