Building Digital Skills for a Brighter Future

By Mandy Schroeder | Director of Communications

Kenya Keys’ TechLit program continues to equip students in our partner schools with essential digital literacy skills, helping bridge the digital divide and prepare learners for future academic and career opportunities. Through interactive, hands-on lessons, students are building their confidence and developing practical computer skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

This summer, students explored vector graphics, learning to create scalable digital illustrations and designs while expressing their creativity. They also strengthened their word processing skills, practicing professional document formatting, editing, and page layout. Spreadsheet lessons introduced students to organizing data, performing basic calculations, and creating tables—valuable skills for both schoolwork and future employment.

Students also continued practicing touch typing, focusing on improving their speed, accuracy, and efficiency. With each lesson, they are becoming more comfortable using computers independently and gaining the skills needed to navigate an increasingly digital world.

Through the continued support of our donors, Kenya Keys is helping students in underserved communities access technology education and develop skills that open doors to new possibilities. Thank you for helping us empower the next generation of learners!
