Sponsor a child at the Boys & Girls Club

When you give to the Boys & Girls Club's scholarship program, you're making a big difference to families at the time when they need it most. One parent shares, “I recently was out of work on disability due to long Covid. After 18 months, I’m finally able to work again. Childcare from the Club is helping make it possible for me to drive to Los Angeles for work so I can work toward rebuilding our financial security.”

While moms and dads are busy working, so that they can provide for their families, the Boys & Girls Club is giving kids opportunities that engage, inspire and empower each child. Thanks to your support, children at the Club will gain so much!

Children in our preschools will be prepared to succeed in school when they start kindergarten. In a summer program at our school age Clubs, a child who has been struggling to read at grade level will get the help they need to be a confident reader. A child will get their first A on a math test thanks to the help they get in our education center. They’ll take their STEM learning even further and learn about coding, robotics, and 3D printing! Kids who don’t get enough to eat at home will know they can always count on a good meal at the Club so they never go hungry. Kids who have never tried dance, acting, karate, or sports before will discover the activity that makes them feel excited and special. Pre-teens and teens in our community service and leadership programs will learn the value of giving back and they’ll get on the path to becoming the kind of friends, neighbors, and community leaders we all count on. Kids will build friendships, find mentors in our caring professional staff members, and learn social emotional skills that will help them thrive.

With my income alone, it is very hard to pay for rent, daycare, medical, etc. for the family. Without daycare, I would lose my job because I have no one to help me. These words from a mom whose children are in the Club's scholarship program show what a big difference you are making to families by supporting this project. Their family is going through a hard time. Parents divorcing and financial struggles are really hard on both kids and parents, but with your help, the Club can offer kids stability when they need it most and give hard-working parents peace of mind and the ability to work and provide for their kids. 

And, kids get to experience so many great things when they are at the Club! They get help with their homework, participate in hands-on STEM activities that make learning fun, learn how to cook in the teaching kitchen, explore their creativity in the art room, play sports and learn to be part of a team in our gymnasium, participate in performing arts programs like dance and theatre, and so much more. They build friendships, spend time with caring adults, build their confidence, and learn that they can make a difference in their community, just like you are by supporting this program.
