Building Dreams: A New Year of Possibilities

By Helena Murphy | Communications and Fundraising Manager

This month marks the beginning of the new academic year in Guatemala and aligned to this the beginning of CasaSito’s Youth Development Program. We celebrated the new year with an opening ceremony in the regions of Sacatepequez and Alta Verapaz, welcoming this year's young scholars and their parents.

We are excited to announce that this year, the program is working with 115 young people, ranging from junior high school to university level, supporting them on their journeys to make their dreams a reality.

In recent weeks, many young people have shared what it means to be a part of the youth program;

‘This scholarship helps me, not only with my studies, but it makes me feel accompanied and supported in other areas’.

‘I feel very grateful for the opportunity given to me because it allows me to get closer to my main goal, which is to study at university. Even though the road ahead is long and full of obstacles, this scholarship motivates me to fight for what I want.’

‘I am very grateful for the help they have given me, it has made a big difference in my life, in the life of my family.’

‘I am very grateful to CasaSito, because thanks to you, many students like me can have the opportunity to continue our studies and achieve our dreams.’

‘I am very grateful for this opportunity, CasaSito is a space that motivates and provides support when students need it and I am very grateful to receive it.’
