We supported a young girl who was diagnosed with Moyamoya, a condition that affects arteries at the base of the brain. It is a condition that needs constant monitoring and treatment.
Your donations supported the transport costs for the family as well as some of the treatment costs.
Moyamoyo is a rare disease. Raising awareness of the condition has been part of this project. More understanding of the condition can lead to increased knowledge of treatments and open up more access to more research and funding. Increasing awareness is important.
At this point other support systems have been put in place for this young girl that focus on the ongoing costs of treatment, so we are closing this aspect of the fund raising. We thank you for your support while this project has been open.
We hope we can support this young, positive community member to be well enough to achieve her dreams.
