What is the GVI Foundation? We are the philanthropic arm of GVI, a for-profit organisation focused on sustainable and ethical volunteer programs. We are the philanthropic arm of GVI, a for-profit organisation focused on sustainable and ethical volunteer programs. It is a space for participants to amplify their impact whilst on base, or once they're home. This means that beyond their program, they can have a long-term impact that will do more. By helping provide more resources for communities, protecting more wildlife, supporting more educational equipment, and essentially creating lasting change. Why was the Foundation created? It was created to enable participants to amplify their impact on GVI's meaningful social and environmental projects worldwide. The idea for the Foundation came about from a group of GVI alumni who recognised the urgent need to provide more resources to the communities and protected areas where they had volunteered, after the devastating effects of Hurricane Stan in Guatemala in 2005, and from that point, the GVI Foundation was born. Why is our work important? We're empowering grassroots conservation and community development projects to thrive. Our mission is to help GVI participants and supporters make a deeper, more sustainable impact by raising and distributing vital funds and resources where they're needed most. We act as a bridge between local, community-led initiatives, which are further supported by GVI programs. With a dedicated team monitoring every step, we ensure that each project delivers long-term results, maintains ethical standards, and drives meaningful, measurable change.
