Dear all Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers & supporters,

We started 2019 with an amazing event for our physically challenged kids (wheelchair users) to promote raising our kids to love and support their peers with no prejudice or stereotyping, and to let our kids on wheels live a happy active life like their peers.

Our kids on wheels are trying to have a normal life, but in order to achieve that they need accessible schools, homes, and facilities. Our role as a foundation is to show our community that these kids are active kids that can live normally if we provided them with their needs. We are so proud of our kids on wheels and we urge you all to feel the same.

We organized a huge event less than a couple of month ago as the biggest Funday social gathering for kids with disabilities in Egypt. Our kids on wheels were having fun, showing their talents and interacting & playing with abled people.

This event was organized & sponsored by our foundation in collaboration with different stakeholders & partners as volunteers and facilitators during this amazing event. The kids were so happy and felt that they belong to a bigger loving and welcoming community.

Check the event video in the link below:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_BCplzS3KI

We hope that you can support us in nurturing these efforts to broaden our services and organize similar events in several schools, universities, social clubs, malls, public places and everywhere. Help us raise the awareness and educate the next generation on inclusion, accessibility and on how to deal with their peers if they look different or if they have any physical challenges. Collaborate with us in nurturing our kids on wheels talents to have more self-esteem and trust that THEY CAN do whatever they dream of and work for. That will make our communities live better, healthier and happier for sure.

On another note, we just want to draw your attention that "The Differently Abled"   the concept that we proposed several years ago as a new image/classification for People with Disabilities in Egypt is now an official term used by the media & the government to honor and acknowledge the PWDs in Egypt.

Dear all Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers & supporters,

We are proud to tell you that we are effectively changing minds and facing stereotypes. Changing preconceived ideas & inherited beliefs that are acquired through generations is the most challenging in any society. Social awareness is crucial in our societies to fight prejudges and stereotype. Not only that, but also we are keenly working on resisting discrimination against people with physical challenges, and promote diversity.

Last month we were invited to represent Wheelchair users (The Differently Abled) in a ceremony organized by an international school in Egypt to raise the awareness of their students about people with disabilities and how they can be successful and inspiring.

One of our amazing members his name is Bilal; a talented young man who is performing beautiful musical shows and playing beatboxing & flute represented young wheelchair users in this inspiring event and all the students loved him so much.

Please watch Bilal performance in the Facebook link below:

https://www.facebook.com/AlhassanFDN/videos/2172948789695336/

Bilal is also a young athlete and he had several achievements as a swimmer in many contests & championships in Egypt. Bilal is a confident accomplished young man who has never defined himself as a disabled person. Bilal sees himself as a young talent that thrive to be a famous performer one day. We hope that we can convey our message to encourge all wheelchair users and all PWDs in Egypt and all over the world to stand up for themselves and never submit to bullying or dissapointements.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support. We urge you to continue supporting our cause and stay loyal donors to our cause through subscribing to a monthly recurring donation option. That will help wheelchair users in Egypt be more confident and accomplished. Please visit our Facebook page to read other success stories:

Dear all Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers & supporters,

Ramadan Kareem!!! Dear donor; In case you don’t know about Ramadan, it’s a holy month for Muslims around the world where they fast from dawn to dusk to feel the sufferings of poor people and to boost their self-discipline. Also, they increase their charitable deeds and help poor and underprivileged people seeking for God’s blessings. So we decided as a foundation to tell people around the world that Ramadan is not just about charity; it’s also about keeping and protecting other people’s rights, and fight any unfairness towards persons with disabilities around the world.

In Egypt, we have a major issue with accessibility & inclusion. So we decided to take it upon ourselves to advocate for humans with disabilities in Egypt especially wheelchair users to have better living conditions and accessibility in roads, schools, transportations, and public places. Not only that, we also are claiming their rights to real inclusion and integration into society through being eligible for decent opportunities in life whether as job candidates, athletes, or as citizens.

As a result we launched our awareness campaign and called it “Ramadan is not just about charity; it’s about providing accessibility & Inclusion”. We also organize social gatherings every 3 months to help wheelchair users meet with each other and exchange their experiences and support & inspire each other.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support. 80% wheelchair users
80% wheelchair users

Dear all Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers & supporters,

It’s our pleasure to announce that we decided to set the model for others to replicate. Consequently we proved that we Walk the Talk through hiring wheelchair users as majority in our employees from the 1st day not just a minority as we used to see in workplaces.

Not only that, but also 50% of our founders are wheelchair users that’s why we believe in wheelchair users’ potential with a deep faith in their skill sets and proficiency. We chose the best of the best to hire because they will be firstly efficient, and secondly can feel what their peers suffer from in their everyday life through dealing with inaccessible governmental facilities or trying to support their families and secure a decent job. They can serve with all their heart and they won’t save any effort to help. Also when a newly wheelchair user see these vibrant employees working on their wheelchairs, he/she will take them as their role model for real change that starts from within.

We are proud to tell you that we are effectively changing minds and facing stereotypes. Through the other 7 projects that we provide to support and improve wheelchair users’ lives in Egypt, we change the misconception of dealing with wheelchair users as disabled persons. We initiated the first diverse choir & musical band in Egypt. This band include abled performers along with PWDs especially wheelchair users. They had the first public concert a few months ago, and it was SUCCESS! So they got invited in several TV shows in Egypt to prove to the whole society that they CAN do whatever any able person can do.

We also organized several social gatherings and events to help wheelchair users meet with each other and exchange their experiences and know more about our diversified projects to choose the most eligible project for their needs and circumstances. We try as much as we can to empower PWDs to overcome their mobility issues and inspires all the Egyptians & Arabs.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support. We urge you to continue supporting our cause and stay loyal donors to our cause through subscribing to a monthly recurring donation option. That will help wheelchair users in Egypt be more confident and accomplished. Please visit our Facebook page to read other success stories:
