Accessibility & Inclusion are rights not privilege

Dear all Alhassan Foundation’s friends, believers & supporters,

Ramadan Kareem!!! Dear donor; In case you don’t know about Ramadan, it’s a holy month for Muslims around the world where they fast from dawn to dusk to feel the sufferings of poor people and to boost their self-discipline. Also, they increase their charitable deeds and help poor and underprivileged people seeking for God’s blessings. So we decided as a foundation to tell people around the world that Ramadan is not just about charity; it’s also about keeping and protecting other people’s rights, and fight any unfairness towards persons with disabilities around the world.

In Egypt, we have a major issue with accessibility & inclusion. So we decided to take it upon ourselves to advocate for humans with disabilities in Egypt especially wheelchair users to have better living conditions and accessibility in roads, schools, transportations, and public places. Not only that, we also are claiming their rights to real inclusion and integration into society through being eligible for decent opportunities in life whether as job candidates, athletes, or as citizens.

As a result we launched our awareness campaign and called it “Ramadan is not just about charity; it’s about providing accessibility & Inclusion”. We also organize social gatherings every 3 months to help wheelchair users meet with each other and exchange their experiences and support & inspire each other.

We would like to thank each and every one of you for your support. We urge you to continue supporting our cause and stay loyal donors to our cause through subscribing to a monthly recurring donation option. That will help wheelchair users in Egypt be more confident and accomplished. Please visit our Facebook page to read other success stories:
