The Sexual Health Education Plus (SHE+) helpline is an adolescent, youth-friendly, and engagement platform that provides information, counseling, and referral services for young people. The services provided are easy to access, confidential, and private. It has, over the years, provided an avenue for adolescents and young people to find redress for all their information and service needs related to their growth and development. We currently need to develop a unique SHE+ Helpline Dashboard
Ghana has made significant progress in providing health services to its population, but young people still face health risks that at times lead to premature deaths. Many young people pursue SRHR services such as appropriate knowledge, contraceptives and treatment for STIs which are either unavailable or not provided in a youth-friendly manner. Young people face barriers in accessing healthcare including scheduling appointments, cost, privacy, confidentiality and anonymity and negative attitudes.
As part of our efforts to an create enabling environment for young people to access information and services on reproductive health, the SHE + Helpline will provide young people the opportunity to directly interact with a professional in the area of health, counseling services and social services in a confidential and youth friendly manner. The platform helps break the barriers that young people face with regards to accessing information and services.
The SHE+ Helpline would provide easy to access, confidential, and private adolescent reproductive health friendly services, providing avenue for adolescents to find redress for all their information and service needs related to their growth and development. The project will reach a total number of 8,750 young people in the coming physical year, and in the next 5 years, serve 206,000 young people.
